Hello, I am Castiel. Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Development Economics in the School of Economics at Peking University. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington in 2022.


​My recent research topics concern:

1. development economics, e.g., human capital, population, precarious employment, gender equality, health behavior, and individual wellbeing;
2. empirical industrial organization, e.g., productivity, industrial policy, consumer demand, market structure, green economy, and platform economy.

​I'm a development/labor economist who applies analytical tools from public health, environmental science, and urban science to analyze policies that promote human development and wellbeing.
