Hello, I am Castiel. Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Development Economics in the School of Economics at Peking University. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington in 2022.


​My recent research topics concern:
1) health, wellbeing and vulnerable populations,
2) economic development (e.g., human capital, urban environment and vitality, rural revitalization), and
3) empirical industrial organization (e.g., healthcare and pharmaceutical markets, innovation, manufacturing industry, and multi-sided platform).

​I'm  a development economist who applies analytical tools from public health and empirical industrial organization to analyze policies that promote wellbeing and human development.
