Hello, I am Castiel. Welcome to my website! I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Development Economics in the School of Economics at Peking University. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Washington in 2022.


​My recent research interests are in the fields of empirical industrial organization and population/labor/health economics, focusing on two research questions:

1. How do market structure and policy incentives shape the behavior of firms and service providers, and how do these responses affect resource allocation?
2. How do institutional change and external risks affect human capital, health, and welfare through the behavioral responses of individuals and households?​

My ultimate goal is to discover policies that increase the efficiency of human society in promoting human development and wellbeing.
